The Waterville Estates Village District Board of Commissioners announces the hiring of Ronald R. Beard to be the next General Manager. He will begin working for the District June 20. Ron is currently a full-time employee in Lincoln, NH, holding the positions of Fire Chief, Code Enforcement and Health Officer. As such, he is responsible for the Fire Department Budget, recruitment and retention of qualified Fire Department personnel, site and building plan review for code compliance for the Planning Department, and enforcement of other town ordinances and building codes.

Ron serves or has served on the NH Health Officers Board of Directors, Lin-wood Ambulance Board of Directors, Planning Board, School Board, and as president of the Lincoln-Woodstock Rotary Club. He has worked on a wide variety of projects including the town of Lincoln’s Master Plan and assisted with revision of various town ordinances. He assisted an engineering firm to identify the community water issues to develop an accurate municipal water model, saving the taxpayers money and accommodating growth in the town to increase the tax base. He was able to help reduce the town’s ISO Rating from a 6/6x to a 4/4y saving homeowners and businesses on their insurance premiums.  Before working full-time in Lincoln, he worked for the State of NH DOT, Loon Mountain Recreation Corp, and Burndy Corp (FCI).

As the District General Manager, Ron will be responsible for carrying out the direction of the Waterville Estates Village District Commissioners to plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of Waterville Estates Village District. His duties and responsibilities include implementing policies and procedures, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and staff in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and Commission policies. He is responsible for anticipating problems and recommending policies to deal with them. Under the direction of the Commissioners, Ron manages the recreational and administrative agreements with the Waterville Estates Association.
